Gradus Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Gradus is developed and published by:
Nuclis e.U.

Email: office@nuclis.io
2. In short
Gradus does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not connect to any server operated by us or by third parties.
3. Data stored on your device
Gradus stores what you enter and create in it: your profiles, your exercises with their descriptions and attachments, and your practice sessions with their times, tempos, ratings, notes and recordings. All of this is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
This data leaves your device in only two ways, both of which you control. A device backup you make yourself, such as iCloud Backup, includes it and is governed by Apple's terms. And if you export a backup from within Gradus, the file contains all of this data, and you decide where it goes through your device's share sheet. We never receive it.
4. Permissions
Gradus asks for each permission only when you first use the feature that needs it. You can decline, or change your choice later in your device settings, and the rest of the app keeps working.
Microphone: used by the tuner and to record your practice. The tuner analyzes the sound as you play and does not store it. Recordings are saved on your device as described above.
Camera: used to take a photo to attach to an exercise, if you choose to.
Notifications: used to ring when the practice timer ends while the app is in the background. These notifications are created on your device; we send none.
When you attach a photo or a file, you pick it in Apple's own picker, and Gradus receives only the item you chose. It has no access to the rest of your photo library or files. Gradus does not access your location or contacts.
During a practice, Gradus shows the time practiced on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, where it is visible to anyone who can see your phone.
5. Apple
Gradus is distributed through the App Store and TestFlight. Apple processes data related to your purchase and download under its own privacy policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you.
If you test Gradus through TestFlight, Apple also shares information with us as part of the beta, such as your name and email address if we invited you by email, the app versions you install, crash reports, and any feedback you choose to send. We use this information only to run the beta and improve the app.
6. This website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 Pine Street, Suite 701, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). When you visit it, Vercel records technically necessary server logs containing your browser type, operating system, referrer, IP address and the time of access. This data is processed solely to operate the website and diagnose errors. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The website uses no cookies and no tracking.
7. Contacting us
If you contact us through the support form on this website, the data you enter (email address and message) is sent to our server and delivered to us as an email through the email service Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA). Resend processes this data solely on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Resend is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. For more information, see resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
If you contact us by email, the information you send (such as your name, email address and message) is stored.
Our mailbox is provided through the Spacemail service of Spaceship, Inc. (4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA). In both cases, Spaceship processes your message solely on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Transfers to the USA are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. For more information, see spaceship.com/legal/privacy-policy.
In both cases, we use your data only to answer your request and delete it once your request has been resolved. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
8. Children
Gradus is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise these rights, write to office@nuclis.io. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
10. Changes
This privacy policy is effective as of November 2026. If it changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
